Today I discovered that someone had stolen one of my blog posts and is passing it off as their own.
This isn’t the first time this has happened, but never has it happened so blatantly! I’ve done a few things to address the situation, including finding the website owner’s personal email address, and commenting on the website itself.
Here’s what’s at stake: I earn advertising dollars each time someone visits my website, and this particular blog post is, by far, my most popular post, and definitely my biggest money-maker. By copying it to another post, someone else is looking to earn money from the advertising displayed on their site. The attraction to their site? My blog post. They’re stealing my traffic, my earnings, and of course, my work.
What do you think I should do? Let it go? Report it through Google?
