Five More Apps For Moms

Awhile back, I wrote a post called Top Five Apps for Moms, and I listed the Android apps that made my life so much easier.

Two years have passed since then.  My phone and my apps have changed.  And it’s amazing how much I depend on the apps that I use now!  Whether it’s for work, kids, or personal stuff, I don’t know how I managed without these.

Five MORE Apps for Moms (to keep life running smoothly)

Google Calendar App

Google Calendar – For years my favourite shared family calendar was Cozi, and it’s a wonderful app.  However, it costs money (about $30/year, I believe) and it’s not quite a versatile as Google Calendar.  While Cozi is SO much prettier and easier to use, Google Calendar is robust enough to keep up with our activities.  Google Calendar also makes it much easier to share and combine calendars.

aWallet Password Manager

aWallet Password Manager – I use aWallet to store all of my passwords, which keeps them secure with one master password.  I haven’t backed it up online yet, although it does have that capability.  Storing passwords in the cloud just makes me nervous.  I’m quite happy to use aWallet locally, and it works wonderfully!

Echo Prayer

Echo Prayer – I just discovered Echo, a prayer reminder app.  It allows you to list prayer requests, and then reminds you to pray for each request throughout the day, depending on the schedule you set for it.  It’s a great way to keep all of my prayer requests in one place (instead of on scraps of paper!), and to make a priority of spending a few minutes in prayer several times through the day.

Toggl Time Tracker Toggl Time Tracker – Toggl is a time tracker for work, projects or any other activities.  Because my work schedule isn’t set in stone, and many of my hours are worked at home, I need a reliable and easy way to track my time.  Toggl sits in your notification bar, and when you want to start work, you open it and hit the Play button.  You can add a description of what you’re doing if you like, and then it just runs in the background.  The great thing is that you can also track your time from their website, which is also very convenient.  It will show you reports of your hours and what you were doing during those hours too.  It’s perfect for the self-employed or work-at-home Mom!

Google Keep

Google Keep – Keep is a note-taking app, and it allows you to create different kinds of lists.  It’s like a streamlined version of Evernote, and makes note taking simple and straightforward.  You’re able to see all of your lists as cards and easily switch back and forth between them.

I totally depend on these ones to keep my life organized and running smoothly!

Do you depend on your smartphone apps to keep things in order?  What’s your most essential app?

I’ll have to check out echoprayer! I love that idea. I normally just pray at night for whatever I can remember off the top of my head. This sounds much better!

I love the thought of the time tracker. I feel like I waste so much of my day and I’m always running late so this would definitely help me out.
